The S-300i delivers state-of-the-art conveniences audiophiles might not expect. First among these is its included iPod/iPhone interface. Like Krell’s awardwinning KID iPod/iPhone dock, the S-300i’s iPod/iPhone interface taps audio from the fully differential output included in iPods and iPhones—a capability no other manufacturer has used. A cable for iPod/iPhone connection is included.
An included solid aluminum remote controls the S-300i, the playback functions of a connected iPod or iPhone, and Krell CD, SACD, and DVD players. The S-300i integrated amplifier combines a fully balanced, Class A preamplifier circuit with a stereo amplifier rated at 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Its circuit design borrows the Current Mode technology used in Krell’s top-of-the-line Evolution amps and preamps. This technology delivers unequaled signal bandwidth, ensuring clear, powerful response from the deepest notes of the bass drum to the highest notes of the piccolo.
A massive 750 VA toroidal transformer and 38,000 microfarads of storage capacitance make the S-300i’s amplifier section one of the most robust ever incorporated into an integrated amplifier.
Employing a massive 750 VA toroidal transformer and 38,000 microfarads of capacitance, the S-300i sets the performance standard for integrated amplifiers. At 150 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms and 300 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms the S-300i is built to meet the demands of today's latest loudspeaker technology. A KRELL Class A, direct coupled design, fully balanced preamplifier circuitry utilizing KRELL Current Mode topologies provides unequaled signal bandwidth. Direct coupled circuitry eliminates impact-robbing capacitors from the signal path ensuring the preservation of the audio signal. Unique for the category, the S-300i taps audio from the fully differential output included in the internal DACs of an iPod/ iPhone and maintains this balanced signal throughout the circuitry. A direct iPod connectivity cable is provided. The S-300i has balanced, single-ended, and iPod inputs. KRELL Theater Throughput mode is assignable to an input, allowing simple integration into a home theater system. A new menu system, adjustable via the custommachined volume control or remote control, allows personalization of input labels, volume gain and balance settings as well as several other functions. The included solid aluminum remote control replicates all front panel options as well as providing control for a connected iPod/ iPhone. The S-300i also has 12volt trigger input/ output, RS-232 and RC5 capabilities. WBT binding posts are incorporated, providing superior loudspeaker cable terminations.
